Nigerian Man Who Didn’t Have Any Connections With His Dad, Promises Son That He Would Be A Present Dad

Nigerian man named Louis Amaechi Anani on Facebook who never had any connection with his dad, has promise his son that he would grow up knowing what bonding is about, and also feeling loved as well as having a present dad.

Sharing a throwback photo with his Dad, and a recent photo his son, he wrote:

“On the left side is my dad and his first son (me). Same space, but no real connection. And on the right side is me and my first (only) son. Same space, but a different story entirely.

I didn’t grow up with a relationship with my father. But I promised myself my son would grow up knowing what bonding, feeling loved, and having a present dad feels like.

I want every man out there to know that it’s okay if you didn’t get it growing up. What’s not okay is passing that same emptiness down.

Break the cycle. Be the father you wish you had. This isn’t about just raising boys. It’s about healing generations.
