Nigerian Man Shares How He Resigned From Nigerian Bank To Barclay Bank In Uk
Nigerian man named Bukunmi preacher family on Facebook has shared his career journey on Facebook.
Bukunmi resigned from a Nigerian Bank and moved to UK where he started working at Barclay Bank . He noted that the experience changed his life as he has now left the bank.
In his words:
“In 2012, I made a crazy move — I resigned from my role in a Nigerian bank to pursue purpose and significance. Some people even asked, “Bukunmi, are you sure you’re alright like this?” 😅 But that leap became the springboard that shaped my life. The journey of learning, unlearning, discovering, becoming, and deploying my true potential began. In the words of a mentor: “Bukunmi, you have survived. What you are aiming for is significance.” That was how Bukunmi Preacher was born.
Nearly a decade later, relocating to the United Kingdom called for a fresh strategy. I re-entered the corporate world and found a home with the wonderful people at Barclays. From Fraud Expert – Customer Service Specialist (yes, catching fraudsters before they catch us and our customers 😎) to Risk Management, it has been an incredible journey. I learnt. I grew. I served. I connected. And I must say — Barclays really is a great place to work.
But as we say, “life na turn by turn.” Today marks another turning point. It’s my last day at Barclays, and time again to step into a new becoming — new learning, fresh pursuit of significance.
By the way, leaving Barclays feels like closing a chapter of my life that I never wanted to end. I found my voice, I met great people, mentors who were genuinely interested in my growth. Barclays for me is more than an organisation, it’s a beautiful part of my story. However, it’s time to move…
After all, they say you have to be crazy enough to attempt real success. Well, if na that kind of craze, I’m already a shareholder! 😁
Here’s to the beginning of a new, beautiful chapter. We move! Now fully OPEN FOR BUSINESS.”
