Nigerian man Shares Bitter Experience With Lady He Assisted With Money To Rent A Shop
Nigerian man with handle @olajideobe has shared how shocked he was after a lady he assisted with rent suddenly stopped responding to his messages.
In his words:
“This lady reached out for assistance with her shop rent. According to her, she has been evicted from her former space where she is doing her food business from, and she wants to rent a new space. She said she has found a new space but she doesn’t have enough money for the rent. I asked how much she has and she mentioned it. Then, I agreed to give her the 100k she said she needed to balance up for the rent, and I sent the money to her. That was on Thursday 2nd July. The next day Friday 3rd July, she texted again to express her gratitude for the money.
Fast forward to Saturday 11th July, I texted to ask about the update. I asked if she has paid for the shop she talked about and if she has now gone back to business, but no response from her and no offence was taken by me. Yesterday, Tue 14th July, I texted again by quoting the Saturday’s text. I simply said “no response yet”, and she still didn’t respond. She obviously read my messages and she has been very active online, at least I see her posts every day.
This is one of the issues. In her mind now, perhaps she’s the smart one while I’m the maga. There could be a possibility that it was all farce and there could be no shop at all; it could all be a format. But for the benefit of doubt, I want to assume that she actually needed a shop because she is a food vendor online. I why is it so hard for her to give me an update when asked? I basically asked out of concern, but some people basically just lack accountability and this attitude makes it difficult for many others to get support when they need it. Did I feel bad about it? Of course not! I only had more expectations from her but she fumbled. We moooove on, nonetheless.”
