Nigerian Man Says He’s In Competition With His Wife When It Comes To Spoiling Each Other On Their Birthdays, As He Books A Victorian Hotel Built In The 1800s For His Wife’s Birthday

Nigerian couple who are popular for creating contents on Facebook named The Okhifos has shared how they take turns to spoil each other on their birthdays and how it has become like a competition as they both want to do better.

Sharing on photo at the hotel where he lodged his wife for her birthday on Facebook, he wrote

“One thing we have always done for each other each year is surprise ourselves for our birthdays and other occasions. It gets to a point where it seems like we are in a competition with ourselves to do better than what we did the previous year 😃.

I had always wished to visit Edinburgh, Scotland and said it in passing. For my birthday in 2023, my wife booked surprise flights for us and flew us to Scotland o. Ah….. Unfortunately, she was on duty on her birthday same year so we couldn’t travel but I picked her from work that day and she came back to gifts she never expected. She was so scared to open the carton when she saw that it was an Apple laptop I got for her 🤣. She was already saving up some money as she had always wanted one and well, I fulfilled her wish.

For 2024, she asked me to get into her car and said we were going out for breakfast. Before I knew it, I found ourselves driving on the express way. THIS WOMAN!!! She booked us a hotel in another City that was over an hour drive from where we stayed and again, I was spoilt silly.

It was then my turn. She loves Bridgerton a lot and a lot of the scenes were shot in the city of Bath . I booked us a Victorian hotel that was built in the 1800s. The hotel was giving “Old money” men. Everything vintage and classy. This picture you see was taken in front of the hotel in Bath. We visited all the popular sites where Bridgerton was shot . She was in her early pregnancy stage and couldn’t do so much exploring. We went back to our hotel and had a lovely dinner. I planned with the hotel staff to surprise her and she entirely loved it.

For 2025, she was heavily pregnant and still found a way to wake up very early when I was sleeping to decorate our house which i woke up to. She also booked a very nice restaurant which we had never been to on same day. I was blown away.

Her own better dey come so, let us see what this year holds. 😉

Intentionality is a no brainer in a relationship. You gotta put in the effort to make yourselves happy. It must not be something expensive but make it special. When you are with the right person, you will find yourself constantly thinking of how to make that person happy.
