Nigerian Man Marks His 7th Birthday As A Blind Person, Says The One Thing That Made Him Cry Every Day For The Past Week Is Not Being Able To See His Own Children

The One thing I’d Give Everything to See Again

Tomorrow marks the 7th year that I will celebrate my birthday as a blind person. There are a few things I miss about being able to see for the first 27 years of my life, and I hope this reminds you to be grateful for what you have. these are the few of many things I miss.
I miss the clouds, the sun, and the rain.

I miss the buildings on the streets, the birds, the animals, and the trees. I miss colors and being able to look out of my window. I miss driving and being able to use my phone with my eyes.

I miss the colors of people’s skin and the faces of my loved ones and friends. I miss my own face, the faces of my siblings, my mother’s face, and my wife’s face.

As I type this with tears rolling down my cheeks🥲, the one thing that has made me cry every day for the past week is not being able to see my own children. I don’t even know what they look like.

This is the pain I have carried for the past seven years, and I will continue to carry it until God performs a miracle for me to see again.

I can never get used to it. But through it all, I am grateful that I have my children, William and Star. As I celebrate my birthday tomorrow with a grateful heart, please find a place in your heart once again to pray for me to see again. I really want to see again.
