A Nigerian has made it again on the international scene. Patrick Okigbo III and other world professionals have been appointed as senior fellows at Harvard University.

PR Nigeria reports that the news of the appointment was disclosed on Wednesday, July 1, by Victoria Omachi who said that the appointees will be working on strengthening the connection between theory and practice.

On the school’s website, the fellows were sponsored by a Harvard Kennedy School faculty member each, and 12 people are chosen every year.

Before a person is chosen, they must have a minimum of 20 years of professional experience and are required to attend and present at seminars, conferences, and lunches as they carry out independent research projects.

Okigbo is the founder of Nextier, a policy think-tank firm with a focus on making governance and development. He has received so many grants and served on several government committees. He had his MBA from Emory University.

He was sponsored by John Haigh, a co-director at Mossavar-Rahmani Centre for Business and Government, and a lecturer in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.
