Nigerian Man Gets Appointed As An Ambassador Of The University Of Alabama Graduate School

An elated Nigerian man named Sunday Okafor, has announced his new status on LinkedIn as he was recently appointed as an ambassador of The University of Alabama Graduate School.

Says he’s grateful for the privilege.

I am glad to announce my appointment as an ambassador of The University of Alabama Graduate School.

In this capacity, I will continue to support prospective students interested in pursuing their graduate program at the Univeristy.

I am grateful to the graduate school for this privilege and to God be all the glory.

Sunday Okafor is a 2nd-year graduate student in the Civil Engineering Ph.D. program.

He is from Nigeria and obtained his M.S in Civil Engineering from Nottingham Trent University, the UK in 2019. His master’s program was fully sponsored through the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship.

He currently works with the Alabama Transportation Institute at the University of Alabama as a Graduate Research Assistant. His research interest borders on traffic safety and inclusive mobility. He is very passionate about assisting prospective graduate students to navigate the initial process from application to moving onto campus by directing them to the appropriate resources and providing informed advice.

He can also be reached via Twitter @Okafor_SC where he shares insightful content on graduate school and scholarship opportunities. As part of his profession, he is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).

He currently serves on the executive board of the Student Chapter of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and African Students’ Association at the University of Alabama.
