Nigeria Should Be Patient With President Tinubu, He’s Doing Great— Veteran Actor Hanks Anuku

Veteran actor Hanks Anuku has defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging Nigerians to be patient with his administration and give him time to address the country’s challenges.

Speaking during an interview, Anuku said, “It’s difficult for somebody in Nigeria to help you, you know. And I stick with Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Nigeria has to be patient for the renewal of this man in the country. It was not spoilt by him, you know. There were people there before him now. Why didn’t they go and attack those people? He has to fix it now.”

Asked if he believes Tinubu is doing enough to fix the country, the actor replied, “He’s doing great. Nigeria should be patient. We’re too much in a hurry.”

Anuku also opened up about losing the mother of his children, revealing that the loss deeply affected him.

“When I lost my woman, you know, mother of my children, it’s deep and it hurts. I was depressed a bit. Sometimes I miss her and I just wanted to get out. It’s all good. God loves me more,” he said.

Asked if he had reached out to her for closure, Anuku said

“From friends as well, they betrayed me. Yeah, but reach out to do what? some want you de@d. Some even want you to go m@d and all that. I’m going to be hanging out with Mr. President, so there’s nothing you can do about that. He has to serve his term, his tenure, you know,” he said.

Responding to suggestions that he may have been paid to support Tinubu, Anuku said, “Paid? How many people can be better than him? Because he’s this and that. Most people who are going to come are maybe after, maybe they’re even worse off. So the devil you know is better.”
