Please introduce yourself and tell us more about your background?

My name is Benedicta Onyebo, am from delta state but reside in Lagos.

You’re an Entrepreneur, what does your business entails?

I’m an entrepreneur: I have a clothing line, I’m an event planner and also a skincare consultant. I’m here to talk about my skincare line: cwbybenniebotanics which has been running for two years now.

What is the name of your business?

The name of my skincare line is cwbybenniebotanics.

What inspired you to start up complete woman by Bennie?

I have always had problem with my skin being that I have a very sensitive skin, I ve had hyper pigmentation, uneven skin tone, dark patches and I was always breaking out! I tried different skin care products which never worked with my skin type and that was how it all started.
So I got very curious and started researching on skincare products and what works for different skin types.

Why did you choose this business name?

The name struck a cord because every woman wants to have a flawless skin, every woman wants to boost their self esteem and confidence and to be all of this ; the African woman strives to be the best they can be, to be COMPLETE!

Did you attend any form of training?

Yes, I attended 2 skincare academy and I also did a training on skincare consultation and finally mastered with the act of cream formation.

So I got the right formula for my skin but it didn’t end there because I could see a lot of African women do not know what works for their skin type, and they end up using products that are formulated for white people who do not have melanin.

African women are beautiful! And if we have the right formulation for our skin type, that will bring an end to the various skin problems we have, that was my drive.

First it started with close friends and family, they saw the transformation and that was how cwbybenniebotanics was birthed.

How were you able to raise fund to start up your business?

I used funds from my other businesses to start up complete woman by Bennie, and am grateful for the journey so far.

What major challenges have you encountered in your business?

One of the major challenges we’ve had is getting people to trust our brands because the market is populated with lots of skincare products that does not deliver what they promised, most of them leave your skin damaged because of the chemicals and steroids used in producing them. The good news is once they start with us they get the desired results and this keeps them coming back.

You’re the boss, how does it feel working for yourself?

This is the most rewarding thing I ve ever done! Work for myself and growing a business! And seeing that i provide solutions to lots of women out there! It’s priceless.

Yes! It’s been financially rewarding.

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

Five years from now cwbybenniebotanics will be a household name across Africa and other continents.
