“Marriage And Childbirth Should Not Be Regarded As Measures Of Achievement” — Actress Etinosa Idemudia
Nigerian actress Etinosa Idemudia, in a recent interview, reflected on her views about success, personal growth, and what she would teach her future daughter.
According to her, marriage and childbirth should not be regarded as measures of achievement. She stressed that success is not solely dependent on hard work, but also on grace and divine timing.
“The difference between successful actors and not successful actors… I feel like it’s grace. Hard work is part of it, but I can never say hard work is all of it,” she said.
Speaking on lessons for her daughter, Etinosa emphasized self-esteem and self-respect as core values. “If I don’t teach my daughter anything, I will teach her how to respect herself, how to value herself,” she said. She added that a woman with strong self-respect is less likely to be disrespected by others.
Speaking on gender dynamics, Etinosa pointed out that women are often judged more harshly than men in society. Says successful women are most time labeled as “Ash£wo” even though there are men who also sleep with people to get what they want.
Etinosa further encouraged women not to envy others but to draw inspiration instead, saying women often face harsher judgment than men in similar situations.
