Lekki Flooding: UK Lady Who Moved To Lagos Shares Scary Experience
A young lady, Lynda Kehinde, who recently relocated from the United Kingdom to Lagos, has expressed shock after her Lekki apartment was submerged following heavy rainfall.
Sharing a video on TikTok via @lynda_kehinde, she revealed how her new home was flooded, describing the experience as her most stressful day since moving to Nigeria.
In the clip, she recounted how water forced its way into her apartment through the bathroom and took over the entire house in a matter of minutes.
“Yesterday, my whole house got flooded because of rain. The whole estate was flooded and water started coming into my house through the shower drain. It literally overflowed and filled the whole bathroom and from there to my living room,” she explained.
“No matter how much water we scooped, ten times more kept pouring in. There was so much water, I started to panic. My living room and everywhere was flooded. There’s nothing we could do, I had to leave it for everything to stop and fix the damages.”
Lynda captioned her video: “Rainy season in Lekki 0/10 would not recommend.”
Social media reactions
The post has since drawn widespread reactions, with many sympathising with her while others noted that Lekki’s drainage and flooding issues are longstanding problems.
