Lady Who Traveled With Her Son 3 Years Ago Becomes Canadian Citizens
A little over three years ago, my son and I arrived in Canada with nothing but permanent residency, hope in our hearts, and everything we had saved packed into a new beginning. No family here, no friends—just the two of us learning how to rebuild life from the ground up.
It wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt, loneliness, and exhaustion as I tried to balance motherhood, schooling, job hunting, work, and adapting to a completely new world. But slowly, something beautiful happened. Canada didn’t just give us a place to live—it gave us a place to belong. Through kind strangers who became family, colleagues who became friends, and a community that welcomed us with open arms, we found our footing.
And today, on May 1st, 2026, this country we chose has chosen us back.
We are officially Canadian citizens 🇨🇦
This moment is more than a milestone—it’s a reminder that courage, resilience, and hope can truly change your life. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come, and so grateful for everyone who has been part of our journey.
Canada, thank you for embracing us, for giving us a fresh start, and for becoming our home. ❤️
