Lady Who Got Rejected By New York University, Gets Accepted For Her PhD In Oxford

GUYS!!!! – I GOT ACCEPTED FOR MY PHD😭!!!!! From Oxford to Harvard to future Dr Vee? 👩🏾‍🎓!!!

💫 💃🏾 !! In February I was rejected by NYU! But today I’M SO PROUD TO SHARE THAT I’VE FINALLY BEEN ACCEPTED FOR MY PhD studies at another school! 😭😭😭 which means I’m going to become a Dr of Education!!! future Dr Vee? I like it 🍾🍾🎉 📚 👩🏾‍🎓 its a 3 year PhD in the USA?? Soooo I’ll be moving to CALIFORNIA ✨!!! Americaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! USA! 🇺🇸

My PhD degree begins NEXT YEAR in 2023 and will last 3 years (hopefully!) !!!! So we have t-minus 10 months (TEN MONTHS!!) left to prepare and until I move to California 🏝🏝🏝 to start a journey and chapter I’ve been waiting for for so long!!!

I found out on April 7th 2022 ! the night before my birthday! And I celebrated the life out of it in Zimbabwe with my family !!!

I wish my dad was here to see this man I wish I wish wish I wish 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 🕊🕊🕊 he would be so so proud. So so proud. But I made sure we visited his grave on that trip so I could deliver the news myself !!💛

But for real guys! rejection is redirection Because I didn’t plan on taking another gap year but after getting rejected from NYU my perspective shifted!, this year has been the best year of my life so far and so many opportunities have came my way that I would have had to decline otherwise.

So what will I do for the next 10 months while I wait to move country and start school?

I want to keep travelling the world! Doing the work in girls education, gaining more experience and preparing for my studies by doing more reading and deep dives.

I want to live in a different for a few months at a time and New York is the first on my list!!! I just need to get it out my system ahaha then maybe Kenya? Maybe Bali? Madagascar? India? Wherever the wind will take me but all I know is I’m excited. I’m learning and I’m BECOMINGGGG.
