A proud young lady named Justina K. HBA is elated at the moment as she was awarded Honours in Bachelor of Arts in African Studies (Specialist) with a Minor in Women and Gender Studies at the University of Toronto.

Justina went further to thank Mastercard Foundation for the scholarship opportunity.

She shared the amazing news with her friends on LinkedIn and captioned it:

Yesterday, this little girl from Lusaka, Zambia was awarded an Honours Bachelor of Arts in African Studies (Specialist) with a Minor in Women and Gender Studies at the University of Toronto 🎉

As a first-generation student and a first-generation immigrant in a country far away from my family and what was familiar to me, this journey has been far from easy for me. And so my deepest gratitude to those who’ve made it easier than it would have been, and those who have made it possible.

A huge THANK YOU to Mastercard Foundation for the scholarship opportunity and mentorship that made it possible for me access the education that I so proudly hold today!🙏🏾
