Lady Shares How A Wealthy Man In US Who Always Isolated Himself From His Relatives Died In The US, Says The world Is Too Short, To Carry Hate, Disgust, And Grudges For So Long
As shared by Mgbeodinchinma Cather
So yesterday, I went to the funeral of a very wealthy Igbo man who lived in the east before he came to the US.
This man made his money in the US and lived in the US without traveling home. He has spent over 30 years here and I can tell you he is very very wealthy.
He has 4 houses here. I don’t want to count the luxury cars that he has. He has 3 businesses I know of, excluding the ones I don’t know of.
When he died, I expected that his body would be sent back to his native land and be buried. But they said he was going to be buried in the US.
I asked why and I was told he was never at peace with his family members and village people. He dissociated himself from them. That means with all his wealth and resources, he never helped anyone rise to wealth in his hometown. He doesn’t have a house over there in his village.
Nothing.
I was told his father had died 2 years back and he never went. His mother is still alive and his 5 siblings all live in Nigeria.
His funeral was handled by the church and a few friends whom he has.
During his funeral, I stood up and went to his casket where he was placed. A transparent casket.
I saw his body lying lifeless in the coffin and I shed tears.
We went to the cemetery and while his body was deposited in the grave, I just shook my head.
That burial changed my perspective about life.
This is how it all ends brothers and sisters.
This is how it will all end.
The anger, the pain, the grudges you have carried in your heart for years all will end in the grave. The wealth, the money you refused to give or share to the poor and family members all ends here and you won’t be taking anyone with you.
The pride, the position all ends the moment you leave this world.
From dust we were made and to dust we would return.
Let us learn to live freely, give freely, and forgive grudges.
Nothing is in this life. Nothing.
The world is too short, to carry hate, disgust, and grudges for so long.
Life is too short.
