I am proud to announce that I graduated from law school a week ago, a dream I’ve had since I was just 10 years old.

In my time in law school I accomplished more than I could have imagined when I enrolled in 2019 as a fresh Smith College graduate:

✅Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University Public Interest Law Journal

✅President of the Women of Color Collaborative

✅Historian/Public Relations Coordinator for the Black Law Students Association

✅Student Attorney for the Immigrants’ Rights & Human Trafficking Program

✅Won asylum for a family of six from two countries based entirely off our 450 page filing in the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic

✅Judicial intern for a federal appellate judge

✅Summer associate for a top 10 law firm

✅Quarterfinalist in the Homer Albers Prize Moot Court Competition

✅Competitor in the Edward C. Stone Moot Court Competition who received an invitation to advance to the next competition

✅Research Assistant

I am incredibly thankful for my family, friends, professors, and mentors, especially Chaloea Williams who was with me on this journey since pre-first year and was invested in turning my dreams into a reality by giving me endless advice, support, representation on what being an excellent attorney/judicial law clerk looks like, and who I could never thank enough; Preetha Chakrabarti who gave me opportunities and amazing advice during my first-year summer; and Lissette Duran, Jonathan Wall, and Sofia Reive who provided me with so many tools to be a successful summer associate and future attorney, and continue to be invested in my growth.

I will forever be grateful to the people in my community who believed in and supported me throughout this journey. Even when I sometimes doubted myself, they were always there, cheering me on loudly and reminding me that I could do this. I am so fortunate to have them in my corner.

I am excited to begin my legal career at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, NY this fall as an Associate in the Litigation Department for 2022-2023 and then to serve as a federal judicial law clerk for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for 2023-2024.

The sky is the limit and I can’t wait for this next chapter!

Congratulations to her.
