The Waziri’s recounts being finally able to travel out of Nigeria, and doing it as a blind person made him emotional as he watched Canada only on movies but now that he visited in person, all he has is his imagination after becoming blind at 27.

He went further to thank Canada for the social support, inclusion, accessibility, and most of all feeling safe, taking a walk in the park with his family.

He wrote:

“When we were coming to Canada, one thing that made me sad was that now that I’m finally able to travel out of Nigeria, I am doing it as a blind person. I won’t be able to see the world like I used to. I’ve only gotten to see Canada in movies and all I have is my imaginations after becoming blind at the age of 27 years six years ago. But I want to take this moment to appreciate this country Canada for caring for people like me. thanks for the social support, inclusion, accessibility, and most of all I feel safe, taking a walk in the park with my family..
