Earlier this week, a woman, Pulane Tlhone, won over South Africans with her forward thinking and desire to help others. Tlhone shared several photos where she can be seen doing manual work to create a large garden in her backyard.
She revealed she plans on planting veggies to feed her family and her community.
Tlhone captioned her post: “I’m starting a winter garden during my lockdown. This will help my family and also my community! Let us all start our gardens. It will be worth it”. Take a look at her post below: Screenshot of Pulane Tlhone’s Facebook post.
The post generated over 32 000 reactions and South Africans applauded Tlhone for taking the initiative to create food certainty for not only her family, but other members of the community as well.
Jacqui Mc Duling commented: “You are an amazing example and what a beautiful piece of property for this project. Please post your progress regularly.”
Paloy Loy said: “You honestly deserve land to expand.” Bulelwa Baliwe wrote: “A beautiful mind and attitude. Boss lady, I salute you dear.” Sonja Prinsloo Jacobs added: “Wow, now that is forward thinking. Why must people always ask for help if they can help themselves. Government must also hand out garden tools, packets of vegetable seeds and stream a lesson for learners on how to start a veggie garden. Learners will learn a lot and be constructively busy.”
