Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe Damijo has expressed his concern following the recent attack on a church in Eruku, Kwara State.

Reports indicate that suspected armed attackers disrupted a service, abducting several worshippers.

In an Instagram post, RMD described the rising violence in Nigeria as a national tragedy that can no longer be ignored. He noted that the Kwara incident occurred just days after 25 schoolgirls were kidnapped and a school vice principal was killed.

For the actor, these events are not isolated news stories but signs of a nation gradually losing its moral and human compass.

He wrote:

“What happened in Kwara is a wound to our collective soul. Innocent people, gathered in peace, met violence they did not deserve.”

RMD questioned why citizens attending peaceful worship services should live in fear and emphasized that families should never have to bury loved ones simply for practicing their faith.

He also commended Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo for his courage in publicly highlighting the increasing insecurity, saying his warnings can no longer be overlooked.

The actor stressed that Nigeria can no longer depend on “silence, evasive statements, and endless committees” while lives continue to be lost.
