Indian billionaire industrialist Sunjay Kapur has tragically died after reportedly swallowing a bee during a polo match in England, triggering what is believed to have been a fatal heart attack.
The 53-year-old chairman of auto parts giant Sona Comstar collapsed on the field on Thursday, according to UK media reports. It is suspected that a bee stung him inside his mouth, potentially causing a severe allergic reaction (an@phylactic shock) that led to cardiac arrest.
Kapur, who was well-known in elite circles for his passion for polo and his close friendship with Prince William, had posted a tribute just hours before his death to victims of the Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad.
Prince Willliam’s billionaire friend Sunjay Kapur, 53, has reportedly d!ed after being stung by a bee in his mouth while playing polo at the Windsor Polo Match in England.
The automotive parts tycoon was an avid polo player and had played with members of the royal family, including Prince William.
He d!ed on Thursday, June 12th, 2025.
The Mirror reported that Kapur, d!ed from possibly anaphylactic shock after a bee stung him in the mouth during the sporting event in Windsor.
Kapur was previously married to Bollywood star Karisma Kapoor, and they had two children.
