Imo Woman Sells Own Baby N500k, Tells Husband She Had Miscarriage

Mr. Chinasa Ukaonu has been arrested by the Imo state police command for selling her baby for the sum of N500k.

The police parading the suspect say she lied to her husband that she had a miscarriage.

Ukaonu when perfected plans to sell her baby, told her husband she was going to stay with her brother at Mbaitoli area of Imo state when the pregnancy was eight months.

A demand, her husband Mr. Promise Ukaonu agreed not knowing there was a hatched plan to sell the baby as soon as his wife puts to bed.

Ukaonu who had earlier sent a text message to her husband that she had miscarriage went to a baby factory home, where she put to bed with an arrangement to sell the baby.

Two nurses, Esomonu Dorothy, and Eke Catherine were alleged to have helped Ukaonu to put to bed at the baby factory home.

Mr. Promise, who suspected the wife may have sold the baby, reported the incident to police.

At the course of an investigation, the police arrested the wife who made a confessional statement and disclosed the baby was put to bed and was allegedly sold at the price of N500k to Mrs. Chioma Amadi.

Mr. Rabiu Ladodo, the Imo state police commissioner while parading the suspect, said they will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

He, however, disclosed the baby has been recovered from the buyers.
