Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has described his relationship with President Bola Tinubu as cordial, saying he considers the President a father figure and plans to visit him at Aso Rock following his victory in the Osun State governorship election.
Adeleke said Tinubu called him after the election to congratulate him, describing their conversation as friendly and filled with jokes about the election.
“I got a call and it was a very friendly call. He called me because I see him as a father. So he said, ‘Mr Governor, what’s going on? How is the election going?’ I said, ‘Ah, your son is cruising to victory.’ I mean, I’ve won and all that. So we just joked about it and everything.”
According to the governor, Tinubu congratulated him and acknowledged the outcome of the election.
“He just told me, ‘Oh, congratulations. Democracy has been played.’ And he said congratulations.”
Adeleke also recalled that Tinubu often asks about his famous dancing whenever they meet. He said he told the President that he would visit him so they could dance together.
“Anytime he sees me, he says, ‘How is the dance going?’ I say, ‘It’s going very well. In fact, I’ll come and see you so that we can do one or two steps.’ And he just said congratulations.”
The Osun governor added, “So I really appreciate him.”
His comments have generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users praising the cordial relationship while others questioned the political implications of Adeleke’s relationship with Tinubu.
