I Will Sign D+ath By H@nging Penalty For K+dn@pping and C¥ltism Convicts In Edo State — Governor Okpebholo

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has declared that he is ready to approve the d+ath penalty by hanging for convicted kidn@ppers as part of efforts to tackle insecurity in the state.

Speaking during the parade of suspected k+dn@ppers and other criminal suspects in Benin City, the governor announced plans to establish a special court to fast-track kidn@pping and c¥ltism cases.

“Now we are going to set a special court to try suspected kidn@ppers and c¥ltists and decided within two, three weeks we are done with it, and I will sign it. The execution hang him. I will take you to the roundabout so that the whole Edo people will see you, and this I will not have any regrets about,” he said.

Okpebholo also warned criminals not to mistake his calm disposition for weakness, saying, “Please don’t take my simplicity for granted.”

The governor revealed that following a recent kidn@pping incident at the Vegetable Market in Benin City, one suspect was arrested while another was k+lled during a security operation. He added that efforts were ongoing to apprehend other gang members.

He maintained that kidn@ppers, c¥ltists and their sponsors would find no hiding place in Edo State, stressing that anyone involved in crime would be tracked down and brought to justice.
