“I See This Country As A Spoiled Child”- Patience Ozokwo Backs Peter Obi

Patience Ozokwo, a veteran Nollywood actress, supports Peter Obi for the 2027 presidential elections.
She announced her endorsement at a political event called “Celebrities for Peter Obi.”
The gathering aimed to promote political change and rally support for Obi among entertainers and the public.

Nollywood veteran actress Patience Ozokwo has publicly declared her support for Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The actress, popularly known as Mama G, made her position known at a political gathering organised under the banner, “Celebrities for Peter Obi,” where she joined other entertainers and supporters to advocate for political change.

Addressing the gathering, Ozokwo described Nigeria as a country blessed with abundant resources and opportunities but said its potential has not been fully realised.

“I see this country as a spoiled child,” Ozokwo declared. “There is nothing God did not provide for this nation. Other nations of the world, if they have one quarter of what God has given to us, they will be better than what they are today.”

The veteran actress attributed some of the country’s challenges to the concentration of wealth and opportunities in the hands of a small group of people.

“Some people in this country have laid up for themselves for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren,” she said, while highlighting the contrast between accumulated wealth and the struggles faced by many Nigerians.

Ozokwo also addressed her fellow celebrities at the event, reminding them of the influence they possess through their public profiles and reputations.

“Celebrities here, what we have, we have our faces. We have our integrity,” she said.

Her appearance at the gathering comes as some Nigerian entertainers publicly express their political preferences ahead of the 2027 elections.

By lending her voice to the event, Ozokwo has joined other public figures using their platforms to participate in political discussions and encourage Nigerians to pay attention to the country’s leadership and future.
