I Resigned Because Oshiomhole Hates Those Who Have Something To Offer – Obaseki
Why I resigned from APC – Governor Obaseki finally lists reasons, reveals next move
- More revelations have emerged on the Edo APC crisis
- Godwin Obaseki has disclosed that he resigned because Adams Oshiomhole is scared of people with different ideas to offer
- The governor also described the embattled APC national chairman as someone who is always afraid of highly exposed and educated people.
The internal unrest borne out of political interest in the Edo state chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) hit the red line as Governor Godwin Obaseki resigned his membership of the party.
The governor bowed out in style after holding talks with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, June 16.
The governor’s resignation, which was followed by that of his deputy Philip Shaibu, came on the heels of a feud that has set Obaseki on warpath with his former godfather, Adams Oshiomhole.
Asked why he chose to leave the party that gave him power in 2016, Obaseki said he decided to resign his membership because Oshiomhole was “scared of educated people because he did not go to school and hate those who have something to offer citizens.”
Obaseki, who was recently disqualified in the race for the APC ticket, assured that he will contest the Edo election and emerge victoriously.
The governor, who spoke at the State House after a conversation with the president and his chief of staff Ibrahim Gambari, said he chose to announce his resignation in Abuja because of his love for the president.
Obaseki will face the tricky hurdle of getting a ticket from the opposition party ahead of the state guber election scheduled for September.
