I Knew I Was A Catch, And Anyone Who Was Going To Marry Me Would Be Lucky”- Nollywood Actress Ruth Kadiri Opens Up On how She Met Her Husband At Work
“I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to get married. I never had that kind of pressure to settle down.
I knew I was a catch, and anyone who was going to marry me would be lucky. As for who that person was going to be, I never really knew. But one thing I knew was that I kept saying no to whoever I was dating. I said no to like three people who wanted to marry me.
The first day I met my husband, God told me he was the one I was going to marry. I went to work, and he saw me and wanted to talk to me. At first, I wasn’t interested, but I later gave in. I thought he wanted to toast me or something.
The next thing, we started talking about Vietnam, business, importation and all that. We finished talking, and there was nothing like “I love you” or “I like you.”
As I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me, “He’s your husband.” Two days later, I bl0cked him. But he went the extra mile to find me, and I was surprised to see him on my set. He found his way back and asked me out on a date.
I told the guy I was in a relationship with that I was going on a date, and I went. The fact that I’m in a relationship with a man doesn’t mean I’m h00ked. I’m very much single until I’m married.
I told him I was going on a date with another man, and that was it. We started talking, and I realised I was beginning to like him. Four months later, he proposed to me, and I accepted.
I’ve never been the type of girl who posts her personal life online, but I did because that was the only way of keeping myself in that relationship…”
