I Have Forgiven Those Who Offended Me – Orji Kalu

- Senator Kalu was recently released from Kuje prison after the Supreme Court picked a hole in a judgement that convicted him.
Almost a week after Orji Uzor Kalu’s release from Kuje Custodial Centre, Abuja, the former governor of Abia state said he has already forgiven those who offended him while asking for forgiveness from those he has hurt. According to TVC News, the chief whip of the Senate disclosed this when he received the leadership of the House of Representatives led by the deputy speaker, Ahmed Wase.
The former governor made a case for a reform of the judiciary after his recent experiences, adding that every Nigerian needs to have access to justice. Kalu went on to note that Nigeria’s Judicial system is in need of urgent reform. Back in December 2019, the former House of Reps member was convicted for alleged looting of N7.65b belonging to Abia state. His conviction was, however, nullified by the Supreme Court while a retrial was ordered.

He was then released around 7.30 pm on Wednesday, June 3, after months of incarceration from the correctional centre in line with the Supreme Court’s judgment.
