“I Don’t Believe Nigerian Graduates Are Unemployable – Wale Jana Shares His Thoughts After CEO Of Moniepoint Says Nigerians Are Not Employable

A lot has been said about Tosin Eniolorunda’s statement where he said Moniepoint could not hire 500 Nigerians because they are unemployable graduates and because they can’t compete globally.

I have a different perspective; there are certain things that should not be said because of who you have become and I believe this is Tosin’s baptism of fire into that world. As CEO there are certain statements you should be diplomatic about because you are the face of your company and the backlash will impact your organization negatively. From experience I have also discovered that Nigerians are the most forgiving people on earth, all you have to do is apologise and it will look like it never happened. It doesn’t matter what you say or do on this social media space, as long you know how to say “ I am sorry” they will close the chapter!

I don’t believe Nigerian graduates are unemployable they have just found out so many fun ways to make money from the comfort of their homes. Will you tell a tiktoker or a streamer making millions every week to come and collect maybe 1 million a month? You see this Genz and all the other Gen whatever that come after them? They have at least 100 ways of cashing out that those of our generation don’t even have any idea about! Let me shock you; many didn’t even finish school! Do you know a bottle girl at the club makes more money than a banker right now? So it’s not that they are not interested, the majority have very creative ways of making money and a bank job is no longer appealing like it was in our days.
