
How Chess Master, Tunde Onakoya Rescued A Young Girl Who Has Lived All Her Life Under The Bridge With No Education
Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess master, coach and founder of Chess in Slums Africa.
He has organized a number of interventions for children across slums in Lagos state including Majidun (Ikorodu), Makoko and recently, Oshodi.
The children are engaged in a 2 week’s session that seeks to unlock their potential through the game of chess while learning to read, write and acquire basic literacy skills.
Just recently he tweeted with his Twitter handle @Tunde _OD about a young girl who approached him during their chess class and inquired if she could join. The young girl
lived all her life under the bridge with no
education because her mother was in
abject poverty. It’s glaring that tunde accepted the young girl as he concluded his post by saying he hopes the world never takes the beautiful smile from her.

into our Chess class and asked if she
could join us. She was born and has lived all her life under the bridge with no education because her mother ves in
abject poverty.
