“He Saw Service Beyond Personal Ego” -Former Senator, Odey Explains Why He Accepted To Become A Commissioner

Odey who stated this during a reception in his honour by Yache community in northern Cross River emphasised that taking the state to greater heights and consolidating on the development of his community which he began while in the Senate made him see service beyound personal ego

“Despite having served as Senator, I accepted the position of commissioner in order to bring my wealth of experiences to service the State by joining hands with others to move it to greater heights.

“Most importantly, I needed to consolidate on the developmental strides in Yache Nation by being in the State Executive Council to lend my voice to their agitations”

Governor Bassey Otu who was represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Elvert Ayambem assured that the state government has a plan to reward Yache by working on access road to the community alongside other infrastructural development.

The Speaker extolled the virtues of Senator Odey as a hardworking and committed person who can be relied upon at all times

“Odey is a humble man whose kindness to others and determination for growth and development of the State knows no bound”

The State Commissioner for Works, Mr Ankpo Pius, promised that the government would soon complete the construction of the Okporku bridge which makes movement to Yache difficult during the rainy season.
