El-Rufai Gives Foreign Scholarship To 10 Disabled Students
- In the spirit of responsive leadership, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has approved foreign scholarships for ten disabled students
- One of the beneficiaries, who dreams to become a cybersecurity expert, was also given an automated wheelchair
- Kaduna government said it has also budgeted N800 million as a bursary for students living with disability.
Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, has given approval of a foreign scholarship for students living with disability in the state.
In a statement on Sunday, February 14, Hassan Rilwan, the executive secretary of Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board (KSSLB) made this disclosure, saying two of the students have resumed to the schools. Rilwan, who spoke at a three-day orientation workshop for its merit and disability-based scholars, gave the names of the schools as Coventry University in the United Kingdom and the University of Wollongong in Dubai, United Arabs Emirates.
According to the KSSLB boss, the Kaduna government under the leadership of Governor El-Rufai is thoroughly committed to creating a special scholarship and bursary for people living with a disability. Rilwan also added that one of the beneficiaries named Aminu Musa who wants “to be a cyber-security expert” was given an automated wheelchair.
“Malam Nasir E-lrufai has approved foreign scholarships for 10 students living with disability. Kaduna is investing over N800m in the 2020/2021 Merit and Disability Based scholarships for the September Cycle alone,” a tweet by the governor read on Twitter.
‘’The Loan Scheme is in line with the state government’s education mandate to increase access to education and reduce the population of out-of-school children to the barest minimum in the State.
