EasyBuy Customer Allegedly Beats PalmPay Agent To De@th Over ₦185,000 Phone Dispute In Delta

A PalmPay agent identified as Justin Azubike Owefu, popularly known as Biggie, has reportedly d!ed three days after he was allegedly assaulted during a disagreement over an EasyBuy-financed phone worth ₦185,000 in Abraka, Delta State.

His family and associates are calling for justice and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his d£ath.

According to accounts from his relatives and associates, Biggie was a graduate of Delta State University, Abraka, and worked as a PalmPay agent covering Obiaruku, Abraka and Warri. He was married and had a 10-year-old daughter.

The dispute reportedly involved a customer identified as Moses Okitikpi, who allegedly obtained a phone worth ₦185,000 through an instalment-payment arrangement. He reportedly paid ₦30,000 upfront and agreed to pay ₦11,000 weekly.

According to the account, Moses later defaulted on the agreed payments for several weeks, causing the phone to be remotely locked. He reportedly made some subsequent payments and demanded that the device be unlocked immediately. His guarantor, identified as Onome Okitikpi, was also said to have become involved in the disagreement.

The confrontation allegedly occurred on September 10, 2026, at about 8:30 p.m., while Biggie was returning home with his wife and daughter. Moses and Onome reportedly confronted him and demanded that he unlock the phone.

Biggie reportedly explained that the unlocking process was procedural and could take up to three days. The disagreement allegedly escalated, with his phone and other belongings reportedly taken from him.

When he attempted to retrieve them, the men allegedly pushed him, causing his head to hit the tarred road.

Biggie reportedly sustained a serious head injury, later developed internal complications and fell into a coma. He d!ed on September 13, three days after the alleged incident. Reports said doctors recommended emergency surgery estimated at about ₦10 million.

The matter was reportedly reported at Abraka Police Station on September 11. However, his family and associates have raised concerns over the handling of the case and are calling for a thorough investigation.
