Dump Your Unwanted Babies Where We Can See, Pick Them – Obiano Wife Begs Anambra Ladies

Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of the Anambra state Governor, has told Anambra ladies to dump their unwanted babies in a location where they can be seen and picked.

Anambra Broadcasting services, reports Obiano to have made the appeal in Awka on Saturday while reacting to a new born baby recovered on top of barbwire perimeter fence where she was dumped.

The baby was found at Oko community in Anambra State.

“This unpleasant news has almost soured my weekend. I can’t imagine such desperate act at a time when many families are earnestly searching for the fruit of the womb” Obiano said.

“Please let it be known that rather than wasting their lives, many good Nigerians are ready to assist and get such babies to appropriate orphanages” she added.

The Governor’s wife disclosed that the recovered baby is in good condition and responding to treatment.

While condemning the act, she however appealed to women not to engage in such practice as that angers God and will bring his wrath on the perpetrators.

Last week, a baby thrown on a face at Oko in Anambra state was recovered.

An incident that has since prompted the governor wife to appeal to woman not to allow a repeat of such act.
