Don’t Blame Peller For Nigeria’s ‘Olodo’ Culture, He Took Advantage Of A Broken System — Daddy Freeze Weighs In on Rapper Ycee’s Recent Remarks

Media personality Daddy Freeze has defended content creator Peller following rapper Ycee’s controversial “olodo uprising” remark, arguing that the influencer should not be blamed for Nigeria’s declining education culture.

Speaking during a live session, Daddy Freeze said Peller merely took advantage of a broken system rather than creating it.

According to him, the country’s failure to adequately reward education has pushed many young people to pursue alternative paths to success.

To support his argument, he revealed that a professor of pediatric cardiology he knows earns less than ₦700,000 monthly despite teaching heart surgery for children, questioning the value placed on education in Nigeria.

He also recalled businessman popularly known as Mulan Industries, who achieved wealth without formal education and was celebrated for his generosity, noting that education was once pursued more for prestige than financial security.

Daddy Freeze further criticised the government’s reward system, pointing out that while winners of reality shows like Big Brother Naija receive prizes worth ₦100 million, many universities award their best graduating students as little as ₦10,000.

He argued that under such circumstances, it is only natural for young Nigerians to chase opportunities that offer greater financial rewards, insisting that the country’s broken value system not Peller or reality television is responsible for the decline in the value attached to education.
