Dangote Appoints Son-In-Law Captain Jamil As Managing Director, Infrastructure And Logistics.

Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Group, has announced the appointment of his son-in-law, Captain Jamil Mohammed Abubakar, as Managing Director, Infrastructure and Logistics.

According to a memo issued by Aliko Dangote on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, the new role is expected to strengthen the Group’s ports, logistics, and trade-enabling infrastructure across Nigeria and Africa, while also expanding new industrial opportunities.

Captain Jamil Abubakar is expected to play a central role in enhancing the Group’s logistics efficiency and supporting its long-term industrial expansion plans.

The announcement was contained in an internal memo circulated to all staff, outlining the company’s strategic direction under its Vision 2030 agenda.

The memo further noted that the appointment aligns with the Group’s commitment to improving operational efficiency, expanding infrastructure capacity, and strengthening supply chain integration across its business operations.

Captain Jamil Abubakar brings over a decade of experience in commercial aviation and operations management, having worked with several Nigerian airlines in senior capacities overseeing flight operations, safety standards, and fleet coordination.

The Dangote Group stated that his leadership is expected to drive innovation, improve capacity utilization, and enhance trade connectivity across African markets as part of its broader growth strategy.
