
Chinese Man Appeals To EFCC For Release Of VeryDarkman, Shares How Activist Helped Him

A Chinese businessman identified as Ross Boss has formally appealed to Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the immediate release of social commentator Verydarkman (VDM), who was reportedly detained on Friday, May 2.
VDM, widely recognized for his bold commentary on Nigeria’s socio-political issues, has remained in EFCC custody since his arrest, triggering widespread reactions and protests across social media platforms.
His detention has drawn the attention of both fans and celebrities, including Afrobeats musician Davido, who has publicly voiced support for the activist and called for his release.
Speaking from China, Ross Boss described Verydarkman as a defender of the oppressed. He expressed gratitude to the activist for helping him recover funds lost to an internet fraud scheme allegedly perpetrated by a Tanzanian individual.
Ross Boss recounted how VDM’s involvement was instrumental in resolving the fraud case and highlighted the significance of his activism. He urged the EFCC to recognize the positive impact VDM has had on society and appealed for his prompt release.
Captioning his video, he wrote:
