“Ceiling Fan Barely Spinning, Mosquitoes Buzzing like Backup Singers”- Lady In Canada Compares Her Life At Aguda Surulere
Nigerian lady named Chisom Chigbo has gone down memory lane as she compares her life in Canada and when she lived in Nigeria, Aguda Surulere.
Sharing on Facebook, she wrote:
“Let me take you back.
Lagos, a 2 bedroom apartment inside aguda surulere.
Ceiling fan barely spinning. Mosquitoes buzzing like backup singers.
My neighbour’s generator outside made more noise than sense.
That was my life once.
And if you saw me then, you wouldn’t believe I’d one day be writing this from a cozy corner of my house in Ontario Canada, sipping hot water (coffee is not my thing) while watching Grey’s anatomy while the rain splatters through my window.
You see, progress is quiet. It doesn’t post updates every day.
Sometimes it looks like struggle.
Sometimes it looks like doubt.
But if you keep going, one day you’ll look back and say: “Wow, I made it through all that.”
Don’t despise your small beginning.
That struggle prepared me for every door I’ve walked through since.
I am still a work in progress but boy I have made some progress? Yes!”.
