“At ₦3,000 Daily, You Will Likely Be Getting Around ₦90,000 Monthly, Please, How Much Is The Minimum Wage In This Country”?- Nigerian Man Asks Reno Omokri Important Questions

Nigerian man named Martin Beck Nworah disagrees with Reno Omokri after he said the average Nigerian can survive on 3,000 daily .

In his words:

“Reno said he had personally visited markets with a journalist to ascertain the prices of essential food items, including yam, rice, maize, and fruits and based on what he saw, he believed we can survive on ₦3,000 daily.

Official cost of a healthy diet figures have sat around ₦1,500 to ₦1,600 nationally, and closer to ₦1,900 or ₦2,600 in Lagos and other southern states, before you add cooking fuel or the extra protein most people actually need. This is just for one meal. Does an average Nigerian eat just one meal a day? How about transportation to work?

At ₦3,000 daily, you will likely be getting around ₦90,000 monthly. Please, how much is the minimum wage in this country? ₦70,000. You see why Phyno called him “onye mgbu”?

Even strict home cooking items like beans, garri, rice, and leftover stew still require buying tomatoes, pepper, oil, and seasoning at current market prices that have stayed high after years of food inflation. Three adequate meals without going hungry or skipping protein is not reliably possible inside that cap.

I am saddened by the fact that someone who is very close to those in power is saying this. If he could say this publicly, imagine what he says privately. This is deeply disturbing.

Food inflation is high at 20.31%, and the average Nigerian household now spends approximately 59% of its income entirely on food. Just food, and we have not talked about house rent, transportation, school fees and entertainment.

This is a very unfair statement to make given what people are suffering. This man lacks empathy and the milk of human kindness.

A real “onye mgbu” through and through.

It is not life that we are living in Nigeria”.
