Actress Yvonne Jegede has voiced deep fear and frustration over the recent surge in violent attacks across Nigeria, particularly those targeting Christian communities.
In an emotional video, Jegede said she had been unable to sleep after watching disturbing reports online, describing the situation as “Nigeria is under attack.”
She questioned the government’s response to repeated killings, asking who leaders intend to govern “if they finish killing us,” while criticising what she called deafening silence from authorities.
Jegede recounted her personal fear of moving around at night and referenced the recent attack on a church in Kwara State, stressing that the violence is “closer than we think.”
Breaking down in tears, she spoke about an elderly woman seen trying to escape during the church attack, wondering whether she was abducted or killed.
“We need help. It is getting too much,” she pleaded.
