Actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Reveals The Secret Of Her 30 Year Old Marriage

Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed that her 30-year-old marriage to Captain Matthew Ekehinde is sustained by divine mandate, rather than just fleeting feelings.

During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, she emphasized that this spiritual purpose and deep commitment, rather than mere longevity keeps them together.

In her words;
“What you see is what you get, If am at peace with him, you will know
It’s easy for us to relate cause he knows who I am and what I stand for and vice versa.

We are very open with each other, we talk to each other, we understand that we are human beings and wherever we are fallible, we discuss it cause we are partners in life.

So we don’t carry this husband and wife thing on the head as if it’s some sacred thing that you don’t touch, you don’t enter.

I have a journey , I choose to do that journey with you
He has a journey, I chose to do that journey with him.

With or without him, I will make my journey
With or without me, he will make his journey
So we both understand that .

Am with him is not because I have to be with him, am with him cause I choose to be with him.

He’s with me because he chooses to be with me, so we respect each other’s choices, space and wholesomeness
And luckily, we both have same value system, it just makes it easy.

He knows am not with him cause I love him all the time.
Am with him cause God has given me the mandate to be by his side and vice versa
So the times when I see him and am not too much in love with him, I report him to God .

Am like hey! what’s up , are you gonna make him come around cause right now, he’s not looking good
So I’m honouring him, not because o love him to much but because I’m honoring the one who is above him .

The one who has given me the mandate to be with him and I wait it out till he comes back around cause he always does”
