Actor Stella Damasus Recounts How First Husband Jaiye Aboderin Suddenly Died Aged 33 Years

Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of her first husband, Jaiye Aboderin, who d!ed suddenly at just 33 after stepping out to play basketball.

Speaking on the Tea With Tay podcast, she recalled how he left home healthy, with no warning signs, only to collapse during the game. “I did not understand, there was no explanation for it. How can a 33‑year‑old man who went to play basketball just fall down and d!e?” .

Stella explained that the shock was even deeper because earlier that same day, they had made plans to go out with friends. “How? We were planning to go out that evening with our friends,”

She described how the tragedy forced her to rethink life and its unpredictability. “I think that was the turning point in my life.”
