23-year-old British-Nigerian Tele lawal is one of the councillors serving Borough of Havering in, Essex, UK. The brilliant council member is not only the youngest in that position but is also the first black female working in such capacity.
Lawal who advocates for Not Too Young to Run movement on social media, recognises the privilege she enjoys being able to serve at such a young age. In one post shared on he Twitter page, she expressed gladness that she is given the opportunity to serve in public office at age 23 and hopes that young Nigerians who are competent also get the opportunity to do same for the country.
The young councillor is also appointed as in the Havering arts council as well as the Havering sports council. The future for the pacesetter is obviously bright and she seems ready to take on her service in public office to greater heights.
