2023: Anambra Indigenes Urge Orji Kalu To Run For President
- Orji Uzor Kalu has been urged to contest for the 2023 presidency and succeed President Muhammadu Buhari

Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia state, has been urged to throw the hat into the ring for the 2023 presidency as conversations over who succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari heighten towards the climax.
The plea was demonstrated in a peaceful procession held by the Indigenes of Alor community in Idemili South local government area of Anambra state, Vanguard reports.
The peaceful protesters, who held various placards bearing different inscriptions, staged a solidarity walk to the palace of the traditional ruler of Alor, Igwe MacAnthony Elibe Okonkwo, urging Nigerians to support southeast for the 2023 project.

According to the jubilant indigenes, Kalu who is a former chief whip in the Senate has done considerably well for the southeast, hence deserving of the country’s most respected seat when Buhari’s tenure is over.
The procession was held when Kalu visited Alor, the hometown of minister for labour and employment Chris Ngige for the funeral ceremony of late Chief Mrs Priscilla Mary Ejiakardo Amolue. Earlier, This publication reported how the former chief whip told journalists in Umuahia, Abia state’s capital, that if granted the opportunity to take over the presidential seat, he would build a 20th-century economy for the country.
Stressing his desire to not only return to the Senate, Kalu categorically said: “…if the people of Nigeria want me to be president, they will show the hand. I can do the job. I can build a 20th-century economy for our people.”
