17-Year- Old Girl Celebrates Her Third Week At Facebook As A Product Design Intern

A young lady named Harmoni Riggins has shared her career journey on how she became a Product Design intern at Facebook as she celebrates her third week at the job.

Harmoni an HBCU student of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, says she never saw it coming and that she’s super excited for the opportunity.

Sharing on LinkedIn, she wrote:

At the age of 17, I had the amazing opportunity to visit Facebook’s (now Meta’s) Menlo Park location and participate in their annual ‘Engineer for the Week’ Hackathon with INTech Camp for Girls! Imagine my surprise when our all girls team won a Best Pitch Award for the hackathon.

Fast forward to today and I am now in my third week at Meta as a Product Design Intern for the summer! (at the Menlo Park location again too!)

Who saw that coming? 🙌🏾 As a proud HBCU student of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, I’m super excited to have this opportunity.

These past three weeks with Meta have been amazing so far and I can’t wait to see what else this summer has in store for me!

Here are some amazing people that I want to shoutout for helping me get here: Khalia Braswell, Dr. Gina Bullock, Kelly Simon, Keiyana Arnold, MSOM, Taylor C. Smith, Brandi Riggins, PHR and Nicholas Riggins.

It’s such an honor to work alongside Ashwini Nandanikar and Erica Baumberger and be mentored by Shade Bakare.

I’m truly living my dream and taking in this chapter!
