“When I Was A Teenager, One Girl Came To Visit Our House, My Mom Saw Her And Assumed She Came To See My Sister”-Man Shares How He Met His Wife With Throwback Photo

Listen to this story. 😅

When I was a teenager, one girl came to visit our house. My mom saw her and assumed she came to see my sister. Normal thing. Girls visit girls all the time.

After a few minutes, my mom noticed something was off. The girl wasn’t asking for my sister. She was asking for… me.

My mom adjusted in her chair and asked gently, “Why are you here?”

The girl smiled and said, “We’re just friends.”

My mom smiled too. The kind of smile that means a lesson is loading.

She asked her,
“Do you know what a mouse is?”
The girl said, “Yes.”
“Have you seen a well-roasted fish?”
“Yes.”

Then my mom leaned forward:
“Can you leave that mouse alone with that fish?”

Silence.

The girl suddenly became very interested in the floor tiles.

My mom asked again, this time with a little thunder in her voice,
“Can you leave the mouse with the roasted fish?”

The girl whispered, “No.”

Then came the final question:
“So how do you think you can just be friends with a boy, visit him and be comfortable nothing will happen?”

No answer.
Just pure, concentrated silence.

Then my mom closed the sermon with the line I’ll never forget:
“If they give you belle, no come this house.”

At that moment, I wanted the ground to open and swallow me like an Old Testament story.

That day I learned something:
what people call “just friends” in certain situations is sometimes a polite name for a fire standing next to dry grass, hoping wind won’t blow.

Now they call it “bestie.”
But sometimes, it’s just a well-dressed white lie waiting for opportunity.

What I didn’t tell you is that the girl finaly became my wife and we are still friends.
