“What I’ve Been Waiting & Praying So Hard For”- Lady Who Got Admitted At Oxford University Shares Her Story, Set To Help Others Through Her YouTube Channel

A lady named Anita Makori has shared how she gained admission into Oxford University, says it’s what she has been waiting and praying for, she’s set to help other aspiring students through her YouTube Channel.

Sharing a lengthy post on LinkedIn she wrote:

I don’t think I will forget this day (HAHA!). Brief background: After I submitted my application to the University of Oxford last year, I had mixed feelings, as anyone would.

Having heard no feedback by the end of December, I “moved on” and started applying to other schools, despite really wanting to go to Oxford. You can imagine my joy, then, when I received an email from the school at the beginning of January.

This email, however, was one inviting me for an interview, and even though I remained hopeful that it was a good sign, it still wasn’t the answer I waiting for.

Three weeks after the interview, I was yet to get their decision and my stomach was in knots; at this point, everyone around me had started to ask whether I had heard back from them and I would wake up in the middle of the night to check my email (LOL).

On the morning of 28th January, I woke up and did not check my email first thing like I always did ( I don’t know why). At breakfast, a colleague then asked me about something totally unrelated that prompted me to check my email and the moment I saw what I had been waiting and praying so hard for, I froze! Disbelief and happiness in equal measure coursed through me and brought tears to my eyes. I GOT IN!

I wish this smile for everyone who’s applying to grad school and, if it doesn’t come this time, I pray it comes next time (Keep trying; this wasn’t my first time trying either-story for another day).

If you need help with your application, my YouTube channel is a great resource where I will be posting relevant content.
