“We Have A Lot Of Damaged Adults In The Society Who Have Not Healed From Their Childhood Trauma, African Parents Are Too Proud To Apologize’”- Mercy Aigbe Shares Inspiration For A Movie Titled My Mother Is A Witch

Mercy Aigbe recently spoke about a new movie produced by Efeirele titled “My mother is a Witch and she used the opportunity to share with the audience the experience she had with her daughter when she was much younger and how her daughter still has deep resentment and carried it in her mind for many years.

In a video shared on Instagram, she said:

‘Few years ago I sent my daughter to Canada for school. One day I called her severally and she didn’t pick. I was worried and I had to call her friend. When she eventually picked, she said ‘mummy I am traumatized, I remember how you h!t a bucket on my head when I was young’. I was like are you mad? I later apologized to her for the harsh upbringing. It is time parents start having conversations with their kids. We have a lot of damaged adu1ts in the society who have not healed from their childhood trauma. African parents are too proud to apologize’
