“Recruitment Mistakes Otedola Made, What His Staffs Did Will Shock You”- Nigerian Man Shares Part Of Otedola’s Book Making It Big He Found Intriguing

A young nigerian man named Sunday Anani on Facebook has shared a part of Otedola’s Book Making It Big he found very intriguing.

Femi Otedola mentioned how he made recruitment mistakes in his companies.

Sunday Anani wrote:

“In his book Making It Big, Femi Otedola mentioned how he made recruitment mistakes in his companies particularly when recruiting based on recommendations from people.

He wrote about some of them whom he recruited based on recommendation:

“I once had a senior executive who came highly recommended. I gave him a new car. The day after he got the car, he started misbehaving.”

“He was chasing women and relaxing in my sitting room, as if he were on a boot cruise. I asked him to go.”

“I also had an employee who was too forward. Anytime we visited my billionaire friends, he would be the first before the rest of us.”

“One manager I hired came for the interview on a motorbike taxi. I did not do much due diligence before giving him the job, because I respected the person who’d recommended him.”

“A car came with the job, and shortly after that, I was looking out my office window when he drove in.”

“Someone opened the door for him, another held his jacket, and yet another person carried his bag. He strolled majestically, just two weeks into the job. That is what power, or a twisted sense of it, can do to people.”

I think these are clear cases we can learn something from. Some people are their own “village people.” Nobody is after them more than their own pride and maybe, bad behaviour.

Maybe they just need small money and privileges to start misbehaving.

Our character is king.”
