Principal Gives Student Haircut After He Was Sent To His Office For Wearing Hat

Kind Principal Gives Student Proper Haircut Instead Of Punishing Him

  • Jason Smith is a different kind of teacher who values dialogue over punishment
  • A student who refused to take off his hat while in class was sent to the principal’s office
  • Jason sat the young boy down, had a conversation with him before proceeding to give him a proper haircut

Most teachers would easily resort to punishment if they ever encountered a stubborn learner who did not abide by the school’s rules.

However, Jason Smith, the principal of US school Stonybrook Intermediate and Middle School is a different breed.

The patient man noticed that one student insisted on wearing a hat to class. This went against the institution’s regulations.

The young boy was sent to Jason’s office and the outcome of the encounter could have easily been a suspension or detention.

Instead, the principal sat the boy down, had a pep talk and proceeded to give him a haircut.

The young boy admitted he was on the wrong and apologised for disrupting the lesson.

He even thanked Jason for being kind enough to shave his head instead of calling his parents or punishing him.

The principal told WRTV during an interview:

“I played college basketball cut my teammates’ hair before games, and I’ve been cutting my son’s hair for 17 years. So, I had professional clippers and edgers at home.”
