Read her post below as shared on LinkedIn:
I recently concluded my internship at Total Energies Upstream Nigeria Ltd. I can’t believe 8 weeks have flown by just like that! I remember the very first day that I walked into the building not knowing what to expect.
This experience has exceeded my expectations as I have truly enjoyed every moment here. I felt like a valuable team member with relevant tasks and assignments that have enhanced my engineering perspectives.
I have many mixed emotions about this journey coming
to an end:
Happiness: I am overjoyed that I was
given an opportunity to intern at Total Energies and also be a part of a great
team in the Contracts and Procurement & Nigerian Content team and my intern
team.
I am also happy to have made valuable contributions to my brand Total
Energies Upstream Nigeria Ltd.
However, I would miss my team and feel sad that this
journey has come to an end but I know that the end often leads to the beginning
of other opportunities. The experience has truly enhanced my engineering career
path and curious to see what is out there in this
field.
There were many benefits to my internship such as:
·
Being involved in induction, training,
and meetings improved the experience and learning outcomes.
·
It was productive and fun at the same time.
There was still time for fun activities such as Friday Funday with other team members at the Gym.
· A visit to the onshore location Lagos Deep offshore logistics (LADOL)- had HSE induction on safety, training on warehouses, temperature degrees acceptable for warehousing, and training on the unique numbering of items. They showed us some of the tools used there and how the offshore operates.
·
Weekly meetings and guidance throughout my period with the company.
·
More confident with written communication and giving and receiving feedback.
More confident with PowerPoint presentations.
Got on-the-job training on:
·
C&P contract and procurement, M&P
Methods and Performance, NC Nigerian Content, and the Governance team.
·
Digitalization which has made the workflow of the company easier.
·
The use of different software applications and their functions such as ARIBA, SAP, etc
·
Supply chain phase and the step-by-step procedures carried out for any goods and services to be purchased
·
Knowledge of how chiller systems work from the Field Operators.
·
Connection of generators, types of transformers, and UPS systems
